If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.

- Sucks I have to clean off my nail polish. Saying a tearful farewell to my Essie/OPI collection.

*Kudos to you if you know the book I’m holding.
1Q84 by Haruki Murakami!!
Thank you! I get asked for book recommendations often so I suppose I’ll post this for everyone. I’m a fan of dystopian novels, and there are classics such as Fahrenheit 451 and 1984. Transgressive fiction is also a wonderful genre. Chuck Palahniuk is a brilliant author among others, most of his books are great. E.g. Choke, Haunted, and of course, Fight Club. As for philosophy, anything by René Descartes, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne which will likely forever alter your outlook on life, and The Four Loves by C.S. Lewis. Lies My Teacher Told Me by James Loewen is great if you’re into history. Classics are classics for a reason, and among them are The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Catcher in the Rye, Cervantes et. al. The Bourne Series by Robert Ludlum is great if you like espionage, and the James Bond series originally by Ian Fleming was rehashed two months ago by a thriller author named Jeffrey Deaver, with the first book entitled Carte Blanche. If you can handle the play genre, Inherit the Wind is good..as is essentially everything by Shakespeare. And on the topic of brilliant authors, Edgar Allan Poe’s collection of short stories and poems is wonderful.
